The NDP calls on the Liberals to detail their plan to help needy seniors and families and is demanding that the National Energy Board reconsider the decision to stop all expansion of Trans Mountain.
The calls were among a number of requests the New Democrats made on Wednesday in the first part of what will likely be a comprehensive pre-budget submission to the federal government.
As well, they are asking for details on how the government is tackling the opioid crisis in both Ontario and the Maritimes, and are asking the Liberals to find more money to help working families.
They also want some details on how the federal government will pay for its promised tax cut.
The Liberals have promised a “back to work tax cut” which would allow low-income earners to shift some of their existing taxes onto others.
The New Democrats are also asking the Liberals to release the Ontario and Maritimes strategic plan that was negotiated and announced last month.
